Storm Families, October is Self-Direct month for Capturing Kids' Hearts. At 5th grade we work to help our students be self-directed...which means they can think for themselves and make good decisions. Attached is the CKH newsletter that can give families some ideas at home to help students excel in self-direction.

The book fair will be here through Friday, September 29. Make plans to stop by and see Mrs. Honghiran on Tuesday or Thursday evening this week for Parent Teacher Conferences.

RIS has a free Little Library in front of the school. It was added in memory of Susie Daniel the first librarian at 5th grade. We are keeping it fully stocked with books. The only rule is if you take a book, please leave a book. Use the sign out sheet on the clipboard. It helps us keep track of the usage of this library! First two people to use the library will get a giraffe reading buddy!
Thank you!!
Made possible by the family of Susie Daniel and the SOAR grant!
