Fifth grade mathematics is about:

  • developing fluency with addition and subtraction of fractions, and developing understanding of the multiplication of fractions and of division of fractions in limited cases

  • extending division to two-digit divisors, integrating decimal fractions into the place value system and developing understanding of operations with decimals to hundredths, and developing fluency with whole number and decimal operations

  • developing understanding of volume

I absolutely love being a math teacher here at RIS. I graduated from Arkansas Tech University with my Bachelors in Middle Level Education in 2021. I am a United States Navy veteran, with four years active duty. In my free time I love spending time with my family, crafting, and playing video games. I look forward to many more years at RIS and meeting some wonderful children.

Hi, I think teaching fifth-graders is the greatest job in the world! I graduated from Arkansas Tech and have been teaching in Russellville since 1987.

My husband and I love to do jigsaw puzzles, travel and do projects around the house.

Hi, I am excited to teach your children math this year! I graduated from the University of Arkansas. GO HOGS! I have been teaching in the Russellville School District since 1989. Before teaching in Russellville, I taught third grade in Bentonville, AR. I love to read, watch football (I am from Louisiana so my family are Saints fans), and be outdoors hiking or bike riding.
